What is TRANSFORM :20?
Transform :20 is a total body workout for both the body and the mind. Cardio, strength, and massive core balance work using a step riser. What equipment do I need?
The Beachbody Step and that will launch on December 4th with the packs! I will be logging in bright and early that day in case there is limited supply.
I am personally SO excited for this new program. When I was in my early 20’s, I found myself at a really low point. I was eating fast food 1-2 times a day, having bags of sour patch kids or red vines every night and the weight started to pile on. My anxiety levels were also rising and I knew I needed to get healthy. I started taking a step class at my local gym and found a love for it. It was really the only time I got excited to workout.
Sure Billy Blanks Tae Bo in my living room was fun but this step class was everything for me. I watched the instructor intently, I wanted my body to move exactly like hers did. As I lost weight and worked to keep my body and mind healthy, I truly found a piece of myself in that class. The instructor ended up moving and I went on to other classes but I will never forget the feeling I found there.
I still find those same feelings with every new program and trainer I work with. This time it’s all at my fingertips because of my “Netflix of fitness” membership I have. Now, being a mom of two I can push play from home and work it around my schedule, not the gyms. That is everything to me and keeps me in the game. I am in better shape now thanks to this lifestyle and all the amazing programs I do than I was before kids!!! I never thought that was possible!!! I find that the new year already brings a ton of momentum but by adding in a new workout calendar and linking arms with my fitness besties, I will feel unstoppable. Plus, I know this one scares me a little which is a good thing. Change happens on the edge of my comfort zone and I need to shake things up often. Hence the reason why I love coaching, it keeps me accountable to my fit crew and also trying new and scary things!

Stop Drinking Alcohol for Better Weight Loss
This year has been pivotal in my pursuit of a leaner, stronger, more energized body. The secret? Giving up wine for longer periods of time than I normally would. I’ve gone over 200+ days this year without alcohol and was even successful on two vacations with the family. You may think I’m crazy but for my personality, it works really well to give me the edge I’m always looking for in my health journey.
There was actually a time in my life when my husband came to me and said he was worried because I was drinking almost every night. It was becoming a really bad habit and I needed a change. That was a hard thing to hear and honestly, pretty scary. I was slipping into feeling like it was part of who I was and simply what I did.
Being home with two small kiddos at the time and pressure with growing my online health and fitness coaching business may have had something to do with it but either way, coping with alcohol did not leave me at my best. I thank God that season seems like a lifetime behind me but I still must watch and set up safeguards around my health.
When I look at all the things I truly want in life it comes down to giving up momentary pleasures for long term gains. I like to celebrate with treats and drinks and also do what I want to do when I want to do it. That was a theme in my life until I realized the scale kept going up and I wasn’t happier..I was unfulfilled.
Learning now that structure, disciplined behaviors and simply showing up when it’s not always convenient is the essence of success in my weight loss, business and overall life goals. I workout when I’d rather stick a fork in my eye. I say no to late night snacking, drinking and Netflix binging because I remember my fitness goals and clients who are counting on me. I live by an integrity that my talk is also my walk.
Here are some pro’s I’ve personally experienced by taking time away from the drinkie-poo’s:
-I can actually get and maintain a strong, lean core
-better sleep
-less anxiety (way less)
-less bloat
-saving money
-more energy and life in my body, especially during my workouts
Here are some con’s:
-bloat all over and my clothes feeling tight
-broken sleep
-2-3 days to feel 100% again
-dragging my entire workout
-food cravings
-puffy face and eyes
-fine lines showing from dehydrated skin
-less motivation and energy
-HIGH anxiety if I’m drinking every few days
As I type this, I am starting to wonder why I would ever have a drink again, geez. What I do know is saying no forever isn’t realistic but I also know that these big chunks throughout the year have served me well and I’ll continue in this trend.
I was really nervous the first time I did longer than two weeks of no wine. Here are some ways I’ve learned to cope.
The first week and weekend are the hardest but after a couple weeks, I was fine without it. It’s so weird how you can go without something and then come to a place where you are so indifferent that you can take it or leave it. That’s what happens. I will say in Palm Springs this year, the wind was just right and I felt an overwhelming urge to have a glass. Luckily I had all my fellow 80 Day Obsession girls (the workout we were all doing at the time) rooting for me so I refused to let them down. It just goes to show how powerful our online accountability groups can be.
I make this lemon-ginger water recipe and keep it in the fridge:
- Juice from two lemons
- Pinch of cayenne to taste

- 1-2 one inch chunks of peeled ginger to taste
- I blended all ingredients with one cup of water and then strain off the ginger pulp with a fine mesh strainer.

I love little tricks of the trade like this lemon ginger water recipe. I would have never known about this if it wasn’t for my fit community.
I always have my favorite Zevia Cream Soda sparkling water on hand and low sugar Kombucha ( the label needs to have 6 grams of sugar or less on it). I even put kombucha in my wine glass if I want to be fancy.

The most important part for me is being better than I was yesterday. I’m far from perfect but I have also learned that the secret to success in life is found in our daily habits. What I do now not only serves me now, but when I’m in my 60’s. It’s like eye cream…you don’t always see the benefits until they start to compound over time. I also like to remember that every time I say no to something that doesn’t serve my goals or priorities, I trust myself a little more and gain more confidence and even more of an edge.

Week 8 Liift 4 Review – A Mom’s Weight Loss Transformation!
Oh, it’s week eight and I am loving how tight and toned my body feels. I think some of the highlights from this program for me has been that when I am increasing my strength, I’ve been doing 25lbs for my chest presses. I’ve been doing seventeens and a half for my bicep curls. These are weights that I’ve never ever picked up before. But what happens when you’re picking up heavier weights. I don’t feel bulkier, but I feel tighter. My arms feel smaller and they’re tighter and I’ve lost inches, but I haven’t really lost pounds.
I’ve lost two pounds over the whole program, but I love that I can pick up these heavyweights and they feel lighter to me, so I’ve been able to stay on course with every single workout because it’s only been four days a week, which again, amazing for any busy mom.
The one other thing that I love besides feeling that super tight, toned, lean feeling, my body is that he had us working core every single workout, which I’ve never done before. So now I am in the habit of doing it and even if my program does not call for it. I am going to add it on and that is something that I have noticed my abs have changed the most. Obviously the meal plan has helped, but from working them everyday wanted to show you the moves from this program because sometimes when you see someone else doing it, you think to yourself if she can do it, so can I.
That’s the theme in our online groups is if she can do it. So can I. and that’s what I saw when I lost 40 pounds and I caught wind of these amazing calendars and these amazing trainers that I could just from a touch of my finger, play my workout and do it around my kids’ schedule.
It’s been such a blessing in my life and to be able to be consistent with it I think is the most important thing. Because I used to always think, why do these people have this healthy lifestyle and how do they fit in? I did not comprehend how they made it their lifestyle, with all the other things they had to get done in their daily life.
Now I know now I know and that’s why I love sharing it. So of course on my free day, I’m able to use my sliders, my loops from one of my other favorite programs. And this workout was a burner. It was leg day and 10 minutes in I was dead. I was dying. So I just wanted to show you all the amazing options that are at your fingertips.

Easy Eyebrow Tinting Tutorial – What is the Best Way to Tint Your Eyebrows?
Do you ever get your hair colored and think I wish I could enhance my eyebrow hair color, too? I know tinting your own brows might seem like a really scary thought but I promise it’s not as intense as you may think.
This one monthly treatment has been something I’ve been loving for years!! Since I’m blonde (well, I was when I was five) and my lighter brow hairs can get faded out, I love the definition tinting my brows brings to my entire face. It also makes filling in my brows everyday a little less tedious because when the hairs are darker, there is less of a need for extra brow powder. It’s also a great thing to do before heading out to a tropical vacation. This way when you’re frolicking on the beach, swimming and laying in the sun, you don’t need to fill your brows in.

Good brow color and shape can brighten an entire face. When I forget to fill in my brows, I just feel and look off. Do you pay attention to your eyebrows? I’m guessing you do if you’re taking the time to read this. Often I see women getting so used to their natural brow that they forget the impact it can have on their overall appearance. It sounds extreme but I promise brows are a big deal!!!! Having a good shape is something we all need professional help with, including me.
Stick to a color as close to your natural brow color as possible. If your brows are lighter than your hair color, go ahead and add some depth to your brows to complement your hair color.
What you will need on hand. Q-tips, cotton rounds, a mirror, a small bowl, water, tint brush, tint and solution.

Then you’ll want to take this brush https://amzn.to/2Box5iY and mix a couple drops of the solution with a pea size of the Medium Brown Tint. The exact set and color I use on myself is here https://amzn.to/2zkxwcU
There are other others you can order like graphite or dark brown depending on your needs. I explain the different tint shades in my video so you know other color options.
Stroke the color onto the brow hairs all the way to the skin. You don’t have to paint the skin but some will naturally be applied. Make sure every hair has the tint color on it and then clean up any edges with a wet q-tip. Let the tint process for 2-5 minutes checking it as the time passes. Some skin and hair will process faster than others so it’s important you watch it closely.
Once you see the skin darkening and it’s been about 4-5 min. You can remove the tint with a wet cotton round. It does transfer a bit to the skin but that will wash off after one cleansing and sometimes it’s nice not to have to fill your brows in for a day or two because of the tinted skin! Make sure to get all the tint off of your brows or it will continue to process and darken and you may not like the results.

Week 7 Liift 4 Review – A Mom’s Weight Loss Transformation!
I’m so excited to share week seven with you girls. I felt really focused when I started this week because I knew I only had two weeks left of the program and I do really well with short burst and short term goals. Obviously it’s a little bit easier to see the light at the end of the tunnel, so this started shred week for us. He does two weeks, I’ve shred week and you definitely notice that he has upped the cardiac.
Have to say though, when I was doing these workouts, I did not feel very lean, but playing back and watching the videos, I’m like, oh, I actually, I can see more muscle definition. I do feel and look a little leaner, so it’s good to have a mirror in your workout space. You can focus on form. It’s good to video yourself and see the progression because otherwise you just look in the mirror.
You’re going about your day to day business and you don’t notice how much you’re changing. I am dying. Jude is a nice little workout buddy. He came down, it was Chapel Day, so he had his little red tie on and he’s like, “Mom, can I work out with you?” So I love to see how much he was actually watching me, which just goes to prove that our kids are watching us so much more than we realize. Teaching them these good habits is priceless.
Joel mixed it up this week. He totally changed the order and which we used our muscle groups. I was thinking about this morning, how much I’m noticing an improvement in my ab area and it’s because I’m working my core pretty much every day. Um, I didn’t use to do this.
I was of the understanding that you only needed to work your core every other day, but working at it daily has been really strengthening it and I’m noticing a lot more tightness in that area, especially after having two kids. That’s a big deal because I do have a slight separation in the muscles going down the middle of my stomach. So I am really excited to have this opportunity to just focus on my core more on my second free days this week.
I chose AAA from A Little More Obsessed and again, using the bands and the slides are life. I love the way it makes my muscles feel and that just adds that extra tension to those tough to work areas.
Thank you Autumn for blasting out the fat on the side of my butt. I’m working my core in every single move.

Do I love being in the kitchen? Um, no. But what I do love it is having healthy foods already prepped that I can grab quickly!
I have a huge appreciation for whole foods and how much energy they fuel me with. After going gluten-free over five years ago, I started a secret love affair with salads. Breaking up with Chonga bagels from Starbucks and sandwiches, salads soon became my bestie. In my process to lose 40 lbs of baby weight, having a salad a day kept my saddlebags away. The habit still sticks with me today and now I have a more time efficient way of keeping it alive!
All you need are a few big mouthed mason jars and your favorite salad fixings’ found here: MASON JARS
If you’re a taco loving girl such as myself, you might just want to add this to your life: FLAVOR GODS TACO SEASONING. It’s the best tasting taco seasoning I’ve ever had! My kids even noticed how yummy it is!

Week 6 Liift 4 Review – A Mom’s Weight Loss Transformation!
Hey guys, so week six in Liift 4 is still a building week, which means I’m going heavier with my weights. If I could not keep my proper form and if my elbows slipped and form got too ugly, I would put the weights down. I would quickly pick up something lighter just because form is crucial for me. I also don’t want to strain my neck because I have an old neck injury and I really have to protect it and I’m careful with it.
So I really tried to go hard with my hip moves and then on Wednesday my free day, I did a 45 minute booty day. You saw the move just now. That was in that and it was amazing. I used sliders, I used weights, I used bands and it was actually really fun. So I love having access to all these workouts and really I just tried to focus on form.
There were a couple times I’m like, dang, it’s dark. It’s winter. I really just want to pour a glass of red wine. I just really had to focus on my water intake and just kind of getting it done. I promised myself eight weeks, no alcohol, I’m finally going to get to have wine on Thanksgiving.
I feel so much leaner and less bloated and my body feels like it works better and I sleep better when I don’t have the wine. This is why I’m doing this, and it may seem extreme to some, I knew it would get me ahead. It would also gives me that edge, which we’re always looking for, that the thing that’s gonna get us a little bit further in our progress. That makes us feel amazing and unstoppable.
So of course triple bears here. Not My favorite, but I’m getting better at keeping my knees two inches off the ground and you can see I have less middle jiggle, which I’m really excited about. I think my belly button is moving north and spray tans are life. Can I just have a moment of silence for a good spray tan?!! So join our November Challenge Group. November is the group. I put together all the supplements I take daily for you. It’s taken me five years to find my rhythm with it all and some days, when my kids were little, I was lucky to get even one balanced meal in a day!
The struggle is real but we cannot pour from an empty cup so this quick system I follow makes me feel so much more energized and ready to face the day! I understand my metabolism is not going to work in my favor anymore so I need to keep it up as well as protect my gut health to ward off disease as much as possible! Having a strong allergy to gluten, I swear my body is more sensitive!
Here’s my morning to evening plan!

I had to share this with you girls.
I had been looking for a long duster that wasn’t too bulky or heavy. I wanted to wear it with different tanks and leggings, you know, the mom uniform stuff.
Cardigan
When I saw this one, I knew it was the perfect material. It is so comfortable!! CARDIGAN It does run a bit big. I ordered a medium but wish I had a small. Thanks, Amazon, for supplying everything I will ever need in this life including all things mom style.
Spanx
This looks great with jeans and OTK (over the knee) boots, jean cut-offs with booties, a fitted dress or with basic black leggings. Speaking of leggings, Spanx are always an excellent choice. This is the pair I have SPANX
Next on my list is this pair of Camo Spanx CAMO SPANX because they are black but will have the different shades and design to them. I can’t begin to tell you how much I love this camo trend I’m seeing everywhere. Camo is the new black in my world.
V-Neck Tank
Here is an idea of a cute yet simple striped tank to wear with this cardigan, click here, but any tank or t-shirt would work. The one thing I’m pretty picky about for me is that when I’m wearing tight leggings, my shirt needs to be long enough to cover my “area.”
For some reason, I think it looks too revealing when your shirt is too short and your lovely lady lumps are showing. Wearing an athleisure style is a totally different rule set but if you’re dressing up and rocking this style, you need a tank or t-shirt long enough.
My husband actually requested this outfit for our thirteenth wedding anniversary date night. I’m happy he loves it because the comfort level is high and great for the stretch factor when we’ve had too many drinks and dessert to top it of. I keep forgetting how Amazon is a great place to find unique pieces with affordable pricing.

Of course the day after Halloween brings a whole new wind in my sails!! Our family starts to get our Holiday decor out and the kiddos get Christmas fever. It was a tad embarrassing at first when everyone knew we were decorating so early but now we don’t care! We jump the gun and now basically give Thanksgiving a quick wave and a smile. We wait to put up outdoor lights until after Turkey day at least!
It’s been a couple years since I added to our decorations and this year, I got bit by the “flocked tree” bug. I asked a couple friends, I know had experience in this affordable Holiday decor so I asked them where I could get a smaller tree. After they told me Walmart, I made every excuse to get there right away.
This 6 ft tree is only $35 and I was able get lights and a mini tree for our entry way:

Needless to say, we love it all! Having artificial trees isn’t something I grew up with but I really don’t mind it. It makes decorating November 1st easier because you don’t have to wait for the Christmas tree lots to open lol!
