Shift Shop Review 2018 | A Mom’s Weight Loss Transformation!
I just completed three weeks of Shift Shop Proving Grounds and had to share some of the moves with you. It was a nice break up from what I had been doing. The markers and tracking system Chris, the trainer, put together was a nice challenge. Each week went up in time by 10 minutes so I had to plan accordingly. The strength workout were by far my favorite part. The cardio workouts needed a little more space than I have in my workout room so that was a downfall.
I wrote motivational quotes on each marker and loved everything he said about pushing through the hard to find a deeper level. When our bodies get tired, that’s when our minds and souls need to take over. He would say the perfect reminder at the perfect time during the workout which is always needed. The Proving Ground workouts didn’t change the entire program but I liked that part because then I could track my numbers and see if I could do more with the time I had. By week three, my numbers were higher which I was proud of.
I wouldn’t say this is my favorite program but maybe that’s because I had already done a round of the original Shift Shop and it was very much the same. What I will say is, his strength workouts are such a perfect blend of cardio and weights that I will go back to Strength 35 and 45 if I have a free day between programs and need a good workout I’ll enjoy. With over 800 workouts at my fingertips, I love discovering new favorites to revisit!!!

Legs, Booty and Abs Workout! Oh MY! My Favorite 80 Day Obsession Moves!!
If you’re like me, there is nothing better than feeling long and lean after your workout. It’s one of my favorite feelings!! Here’s a short video with some moves to achieve a strong core, tight legs and round booty. I will be making another one soon with some other bun burners.
Grab a pen and paper and sketch a quick note so you have the sequence handy. You’ll do 15 reps of each move. On the moves that require you to alternate legs, simply count the right leg 15 times as you alternate. You’ll also need one weight, I’m using a 10 lb dumbbell.
If you have slides and loops at home, grab those to have handy. If you don’t, grab a paper plate to work as your slide and forgo the loops. If you have hard floors, you can actually use a small towel to use as your slide, it will give the same effect.

There are over 800 workouts for you to stream from any device / smart t.v. and you’d have me as your one on one coach. These moves are samples from these amazing trainers and workouts. I did not come up with them myself. 80 Day Obsession moves are some of my favorites. Autumn Calabrese is one of my favorites.
- Here’s your order and you can repeat this 2-3 times depending on how much time you have. Make sure to run in place and warm up.Tension
- Squats with loop. I love how this move engages the legs and booty at the same time.
- Four Way Lunge. I love this move!! You’ll go into a back lunge, curtsy, side and then a squat. By the 15th rep, your legs will be screaming.
- In and Outs. Start at the top and press your core to the floor as you extend your legs and arms back.
- Cabbage Patch Crunches.
- Bear Kicks with a 10 second hold at the end. Make sure to keep your knees just 2 inches off the ground and your hands directly under your shoulders.
- Swimmers. Amazing move for the lower core and back.
- Side Tucks with loop. 15 each side.
- Squat Jumps with loop and weight. Do two lateral shuffles before each jump squat moving right and left. This one will blast your heart rate for an extra calorie burn.
- Inner Thigh Burner. 15 each side. Tuck the loop around the arch of your outside foot and around the ankle of the leg that is being lifted.
- End all moves with some leg stretching, morning stretch and the upper body connector stretch. Stretching post workout is so important!! Don’t ever skip that part.

Week Three Liift 4 Review – A Mom’s Weight Loss Transformation!
I just drank my Energize so I am ready to go on shoulders week three, day three, and the girls and I are chatting in the online accountability group. How amazing we feel and how we can’t believe it’s already week three.
No workout is the same for the entire eight weeks that keeps us engaged and interested and one little tip I have for you that helps me a ton are mirrors. I went to Ikea and picked up three mirrors I use at to check my form.
I think about the muscles I’m using and I know that that really helps with my results, I’m not just guessing how my form is. I actually know where my knee is bending up over my ankle to my elbows are in windows, close to my body. This applies to my bicep curls as well.
When you’re lifting heavy, and if you need to go heavier, you should invest in the heavier weights as needed. You will find yourself needing heavier as this program goes. But as I’m lifting heavy and pushing myself, I must focus on proper form because I don’t want to get injured. And if I’m going to take time to do this, I want the best results.
The meal plan on this program is really, really simple and it’s laid out a lot like some of the other programs that I’ve done. And, there’s an app where you can track all the containers. And really what it is, is it’s eating right for either your weight loss goals or your muscle building goals. So that being said, a lot of the times when we calculate, we can find, okay, I’m eating too many healthy fats and proteins. What I need, is more healthy carbs and veggies and there are different ways that I can help you figure out how to get those in your day. And, the app lets you track everything.
Today I have 10 baby carrots as a veggie and then I’ve got some Turkey lunch meat. It doesn’t have to be fancy. You can measure it and throw it in a bag and go. And then for dinner tonight, I used my Instant Pot, I did spaghetti squash and a harvest fall pasta sauce, and then I just did onion and lean ground turkey meat. (For full recipe click here.)
So of course I get my daily shake everyday. That’s a dessert that helps with my cravings. And you also get a cheat meal and he wants you to have it. Now this is really, really smart. He wants you to either have it on Wednesday night because Wednesday’s the rest day, he knows you’re going to have a workout on Thursday, so you can use the energy from the cheat meal or the treat meal like I like to say for energy the next day.
So again, Saturday, Sunday are off on this plan. You can either do an active rest day, you can do a different program since you have access to over a thousand workouts, you can do a different workout. I’ve been choosing some booty day workouts because I need a little extra help, or just plain cardio or something fun that I like or Pilates or yoga. But since you have Saturday, Sunday off, you can do your cheat meal on Sunday night too, because you know you’re going to be pushing it hard on Monday.
Remember, you’re going to use those calories, that energy from those cheat foods and you’re going to be able to have fun. And the average American, 80 percent do not stick to a plan. Six days a week is not doable for a lot of people that either commute, work full time, have super busy schedules, so being four days a week I feel like is the perfect workout for a busy lifestyle.
I’m happy to report that I am down three pounds since I started this challenge. Ditching the alcohol and focusing more on sleep and water has really helped me. My Cheap Gym
I used to love going to the gym. I would get in my car, drive 15 minutes, take 5 minutes to park, rush and change my clothes in a shared space, be barely on time for class, then workout in a class for about 45 minutes to an hour. Then I’d usually do some stretching. I would then go back to my car, jet out and get back home in 15-20 minutes.
I figured I spent at least 30 – 45 minutes in my car a day, just in traveling to and from the gym; had to always pack a bag, which took extra time and had to spend an extra 15 minutes at the gym to get ready and what not almost everyday. You better believe I loved working out at the gym before kids, but it ate up an extra hour per day….usually 5 to 6 days per week.
Having kids….well, let’s just say that an extra hour a day is huge!!!! Let’s not forget that time, gas and a gym membership cost money!!! I needed a cheap gym alternative. I needed a way to be as efficient as possible!!
Why the Cheap Gym?
When my husband began doing P90X in 2012, I really was skeptical that it would work. Well, he proved me wrong….all while I was getting bigger and bigger, pregnant with my second. Thanks hubby!! I watched as he stayed consistent, getting into Insanity after P90X, and losing 70lbs in six months…..all from a room in our basement. He bought some adjustable dumbbells, a pull up rack, some mats and an old barbell with some weights. My hubby also added a bench. Over the years we have added a bit more, using Craigslist or Offer Up to pick up a few more items, but really that was what we needed. Oh ya….and a TV from 2004 and a DVD player from the same year. Our cheap gym was complete!!!
Turbofire was my workout of choice in my small, cozy, cheap gym. It was perfect. The space is about 12’X12′, that is including all the equipment. We have a good amount of natural light, which I love and I can open the window. Being in the basement, it stays cool in the summers in the Seattle area. I don’t have to waste any time at all.
I would take a preworkout drink called Energize, throw a show on for my kids and away I would go!! As the kids have gotten older, I will get my workout done early, get them ready and then get them to school. I then get about 5 straight hours to work on my business, get things done around the house, grocery shop, volunteer…you name it, but I’m not taking the time to go to the gym. Most my workouts are 45 minutes on average, many are shorter and then I am done! No more commute and prep. It is super efficient for the busy woman or mom!!
I never see myself going back to a gym fully. I love my cheap gym. A couple of times a week would be fun, especially if I was leading classes, but for the most part, it just wastes too much time. Time is my most important and precious commodity and a gym is just not in the cards.
My Cheap Gym Just Got Better!
Now, fast forward to the present, my cheap gym is even better! We get all our workouts, literally hundreds of them streaming, anytime we desire! I will do the entire workout of 21 Day Fix, Hammer and Chisel, Core De Force, but I really love switching them up from time to time, I also love hybrids. With Beachbody on Demand, I can access any of the workouts anytime. Having access to every single workout that Beachbody has ever made! It’s my dream come true! No more having to search through DVD’s stacked to the ceiling!!

The definition of SHINE:
(of the sun or another source of light) give out a bright light.?
emit light, beam, radiate, gleam, glow, glint, glimmer, sparkle, twinkle, glitter, glisten, shimmer….
When I first started my journey, I knew I would need a word to represent my intentions and my team. After a few months of pondering, it finally hit me early one morning. Shine, yes! The perfect word to explain how this new healthy lifestyle felt. For too long I was lost in the darkness with my health and it felt, well, hopeless. Now that I have the answer and keep pushing for and creating those daily priorities of healthy habits, I feel lighter and brighter.
I believe when you first take care of your spiritual and physical health, everything else is better. It is one of the most important things you can do for yourself AND your loved ones. As mom’s, we can forget to do this so that’s why I’m SO darn passionate about helping other women find their fitness!!
So, as I get ready to do my 30 minute home workout today before the kids are up, I thank God that I have a body that can move and a team of women who support each other. Life is short and we all want to live it well! ? Tank top cred goes to my personal shopper: Matt Rody ?#TeamShine #blessedlife

Weighted Sumo Squats for the Win!
Day 8 // Done. Weighted Sumo Squats. Love the feeling of this move because of the turned-out-toe position. Talk about an inner thigh reconstructor! Operation Get Fit is more of a: Get my booty off the back of my thighs! ? 21 Day Fix Extreme is no joke!
Working our legs burns a ton of calories because they are such large muscles. Just don’t mind me if you see me hobbling around town..they don’t call it an Extreme workout for nothing !
I’m feeling good but still not exactly where I thought I’d be on day 8. You know that feeling of progress that feels so good? Yeah, well I’m still in the “feeling completely out of shape” stage! The cool thing is, I’ve been here before. I know that if I just fall in love with the process, my results will come. Cheers to all us girls that push past our limits and keep our eyes on the prize!

Workout clothes all laid out and ready for me this morning!
I stayed up a little too late last night catching up on #thebachelorette but it was worth it?☺️
I know from experience that you have to DECIDE to make fitness part of your day. You have to PLAN your food and not leave it to chance. The ladies in my online challenge group that started Monday are going strong!! We all shared the main habit we wanted to create for ourselves and mine was a 5:00 wake-up goal. To be honest, I’ve not been perfect this week but my GOAL is there and I’m working towards it!! 5:00 is so early lol ?! I know how powerful it will be for me because I’ve done it before.
