  • A Mom’s 80 Day Obsession Meal Plan

A Mom’s 80 Day Obsession Meal Plan – What Food Really Works For Weight Loss Transformation!

Let’s talk timed-nutrition. It sounds daunting but also intriguing. I decided to follow this guide my trainer wrote out for the 80 Day Obsession Meal Plan. I love to eat so the fact that I knew how much and when I could eat all the food, I was IN 100%!!! I love food but also love to fit into my jeans, can you relate?

I had used the portion-control containers before but never knew when the best time of day was to eat the container combinations. My question was always about fruits and carbs since I knew eating those later in the day could throw off my progress. The thing that threw me most was the pre-workout meal. I normally workout on a fasted stomach with just my favorite pre-workout drink.

You can find Energize here: https://www.teambeachbody.com/shop/d/beachbody-performance-energize-tub-BBPEnergize?referringRepID=137315

If you feel like you need a no-excuse-juice to help your muscles perform better and last longer during your workout. We are all so addicted and would break up with coffee for this Energize, our pre-workout drink!

I decided to listen to my trainer and submit to the 80 Day Obsession meal plan fully. I know that’s when change can happen most, when my stubborn butt decides to change. I decided Shakeology with greens blended in and a piece of gluten-free toast with a tsp of ghee on it would be my early morning meal. It didn’t take long to see how much more energy I had during my workout because of that meal.

After my workout, I would run upstairs to get the kids ready for school and shake up my chocolate Recover powder with water!! It tastes so so good and prevents extreme muscle soreness all the while fueling my body with everything it needs after a 60 min. workout.

You can find that here https://www.teambeachbody.com/shop/d/beachbody-performance-recover-tub-chocolate-BBPRecoverChoc?referringRepID=137315

In fact, if you want a bundle deal on the pre and post workout I would recommend checking prices here: https://www.teambeachbody.com/shop/d/performance-stack-chocolate-BBPerfStackChoc?referringRepID=137315

These two products would often be the fuel and motivation to show up daily, they made the process and discipline so much easier to bear.

The next meal I needed to be prepped for was the post-workout meal. This needed to be a carb, protein and veggie. The easiest way to run out of the door with a meal like this was either carrot muffins OR hard boiled eggs with more cinnamon raisin gluten-free toast and some cucumber slices. I would mix this up but honestly, I ate a lot of carrot muffins just because it was easy on the 80 Day Obsession meal plan. Here is the recipe for those:

    Carrot Breakfast Muffins:

Pro tip: Buy silicone muffin liners on Amazon first (best $5 you’ll ever spend https://amzn.to/2xStZ4B)

Use your high powered blender or food processor and add :

    1/4 cup gluten-free oatmeal
    10 baby carrots
    2 eggs
    3/4 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 tsp nutmeg
    2-4 drops vanilla liquid stevia
2 tsp powdered peanut butter (I also use this same amount in my chocolate Shakeology blend)
    a pinch of salt
    1 tsp vanilla.

Blend everything until smooth and pour into silicone molds. Bake at 350 for 20-25 min. I triple this recipe to make 12 muffins. 4 is one serving. I add a thin layer of peanut butter on the top and enjoy. I stay so full.

Next, I would need a fruit and protein so this was easy. Usually cottage cheese and peaches, Greek yogurt and berries or turkey bacon and apple.

After I got the kids home from school at 3:30, I would need a veggie, healthy fat and fruit so again..pretty simple snack.

-Avocado and cucumber sprinkled with Spicy Everything Flavor God seasoning https://amzn.to/2y5Noyw and some strawberries

-Hummus, carrots and a small pear

-Raw organic cheddar or honey goat cheese with cucumbers and a small granny smith apple

The last meal of the day if dinner where I get one carb, protein, orange con-tier of healthy fats and one veggie. Simple.

    Taco salad:

Cauliflower rice with spinach and sliced chicken with sriracha or a salad dressing to flavor
1/2 sweet potato, salmon filet and roasted red peppers in oil
Cod with cabbage mango slaw (the pre-made pack from Trader Joe’s)
Brown rice or Quinoa with steamed broccoli and sliced chicken breast topped with coconut aminos: https://amzn.to/2OqDAJr and pine nuts

You get the idea. Print out your container list, highlight your favorite foods and get to shopping and planning from there.  It’s really the start of the 80 Day Obsession meal plan.

I really hope this helped you!!! • My Current Go-to Lip Products – A Full Product Review!

My Current Go-to Lip Products – A Full Product Review!

I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite lip products! I try to always have at least gloss on because there is nothing worse than dried out, pale lips..it makes me feel so blah!

I used to work with Laura Mercier and she would say you shouldn’t be able to “see” the lipstick rather have it make your lips look like a plump, juicy piece of fruit. I agree with her!

Starting with a good anti-aging product is the best bet to keeping your lips flake-free, smooth and youthful.

This product is one I use nightly and when I forget to put it on, I notice. https://amzn.to/2xNDLEg

My current faves for liners are: https://amzn.to/2Ij67LD
Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Pencil – Pillow Talk This is the perfect nude for my complexion and the texture is so smooth!

The Mac liner in the color Soar is a deeper plum/nude and perfect for Fall!! You can snag yours here https://amzn.to/2OkJagI

Mac lipstick in the color Faux is so soft and to keep it more of a sheer coverage under a gloss (I don’t like thick products on my lips), I lightly dab it on. You can find it here https://amzn.to/2MYF0WZ

To top it all off, I’ve been jamming on NYX “Butter Gloss” in the color Eclair. They are sheer, not sticky or tacky and come in some really awesome colors. I buy mine at Target, with my Red card of course, but have seen them at multiple drugstores.

Last but not least, these candles are so beautiful and bring fragrance to a room in a matter of minutes. I have multiple scents and honestly love them all. This candle holder can also double as a vase when the candle burns down. My daughter has one in her room and it matches her decor perfectly. You can get yours here https://amzn.to/2DyjQzk

I’d love to hear about your favorite lip products and candle so please leave a comment below for me. XO Stace

  • Week Nine Review Of 80 Day Obsession

80 Day Obsession mom – A Mom’s Journey of Weight Loss Transformation!

So week nine is here, and it’s also the start a phase three. This week has all new exercise sequences, it’s two rounds with fifteen reps.

The things I’ve been struggling with this week is that I always get a little anxiety coming back from vacation, so I’ve learned to allow myself two days of grace.

To unpack do laundry, head to the grocery store for fresh produce etc. Before I left I made some ground taco turkey meat, broiled chicken breast, and some chicken veggie soup in the Instant Pot (check out my Instant Pot here!). It all got put in the freezer so that I could pull it out and not stress about dinners right when we got home.  If you want to know my favorite recipe for my Instant Pot, take a look at my blog about it here!

I also feel the bloat just from the travel and the airplane which is totally normal. I’m feeling really proud that I stuck to the calendar while we were gone for nine days and truly feel like if I could do it anyone can!

One big help is the performance line I’m taking to help with soreness and my daily superfood shake that I could throw greens in. I swear it completely saved my results on the trip. Eating out every meal is not waistline friendly.

Nutrition is still the struggle this week I’m not craving wine as much anymore. I know the cravings will continue to fade and fade as the weeks go on because it’s been so long since I’ve had it. I have to say my energy levels are so much higher because I’ve stayed clear of any alcohol.

Each year through Team Beachbody my husband and I earn a trip somewhere tropical and warm. I still can’t believe I get rewarded for helping women find all the beautiful things that I have found through health and fitness.

This business has been a gift to me and I extend it to anyone who’s interested because it would be a huge gift to you and your family as well. We leave in a month, so now my focus has shifted to that trip to see my friends and fellow coaches and enjoying being spoiled by the company.

As I focus on every rep, every bite, every meal and every day it’s letting me put my head down and trust that I’m capable of change!

  • Week Eight Review Of 80 Day Obsession

Week Eight Review Of 80 Day Obsession – A Mom’s Journey of Weight Loss Transformation!

I set my mind on laser focus this week as we are leaving Palm Springs and making the two hour drive to Anehiem to surprise the kids with Disneyland!!

I’ve actually really enjoyed streaming my workouts in the gym. I’m picking up heavier weights and also not pausing hardly at all. I’m keeping the pace with Autumn and nothing feels better than that!

In this video, I show you some of the foods we got at Trader Joe’s and how I’m able to bring healthy snacks to the pool each day. The comforts of the Palm Springs condo will be missed when we are in the hotel. Toasters are amazing 😉

I did purchase some of those yummy Powerberries Chocolates from Trader Joe’s and keep them in the freezer. If you’ve never tried, I highly recommend. They are not on the plan so I’m confessing now. At least I stayed strong and skipped the alcohol!

My bathroom became my morning kitchen hub as I kept my alarm for 5:30 in Disney. It wasn’t all that bad actually. Having everything in there the night before eased my mind so once the alarm went off, I was good to go. I did not want to fall behind on the calendar and even though I shifted my Sunday rest day to Friday both weeks, I stayed the course.

I even met another mom in the gym doing 80 Day as well. She was on day 25!

Eating out was great each night even though a few times my portions were way too big. Can you tell my main struggle in all of this is food? I can do the workouts any day but the food is a pure struggle. I got nachos one night and even though I didn’t eat them all, I felt so bloated AND the first 10 minutes of my workout the next day suffered. I always think it’s a good idea until I do it. Regret inevitably follows.

I hope this gives you some ideas on how you can balance a healthy lifestyle with travel. How you can stick to a plan and gain confidence by doing so. I’m at the point in my life where I know what it feels like to overindulge for days on end. I prefer the feeling of self-control and schedule so I can feel, look and BE the best version of me continually.

  • Week Seven Review Of 80 Day Obsession

Week Seven Review Of 80 Day Obsession – A Mom’s Journey of Weight Loss Transformation!

I felt really good this week but was also a bit unsettled about how vacationing for 9 days would work out with my 80 Day Obsession schedule. I’m actually seeing more muscles and my endurance feels strong.

I set my mindset so that my family would come before my workouts, which meant I needed to wake up earlier than normal and everything ready the night before. This way, I wouldn’t wake anyone up as I ate my preworkout meal and getting ready each morning.

I prepped a lot of food to have quickly as we were busy packing and getting ready to leave. I also put extra food in the freezer so I could pull it out when we got home (giving me a chance to do all the laundry.)

I was reminded of how much I love my privacy and loud music in my home gym but found the new environment fun. I used heavier weights then I would have at home and never found the gym too crowded.

I’ll follow up next week with how I did the whole trip! Say a prayer for my wine loving soul. It’s so hard to say no to a drink with dinner on vacation!!!

  • Week Six Review Of 80 Day Obsession – A Mom’s Journey of Weight Loss Transformation!

Week Six Review Of 80 Day Obsession – A Mom’s Journey of Weight Loss Transformation!

I find that no matter how long I’ve been working out or how bad I want good results, it’s still a struggle to push play every day. The reason being is it takes discipline. Discipline is never easy but it is simple.

I really found online accountability to be the most important aspect of my journey. If I’m feeling like not doing my work out that day, I can check into the group and see that the girls already posted that they finished the assigned day and there’s no way I’m not going to show up and do the same.

Phase 2 is a building phase, so I’m doing three rounds of 10 reps which really gives you a great cardio burn as well as the muscle building. Autumn and the crew are so hilarious I love hearing what they’re saying getting encouragement from her and you you feel like you are on sat with them it’s really interactive for an online workout. This week she introduced a Refeed Day so chickpea, brownies and white rice were my go to carbs (yellow). It was fun to have brownies for breakfast 😉 Do I feel like I’m perfect? Not at all. But I know that every day I’m trying to get more water, more sleep and not let myself splurge on the extra chocolate chips or crackers that are in the house.

80 Day Obsession feels like a movement. A real journey. It’s not a quick fix, it’s a dedicated enough time that allows your mind and body to change at the rate they need to. These workouts aren’t leaving me feeling like I’m dead at the end of them which I like. I’m the perfect amount of sore, I’m getting a lot of healthy food and I’m not alone which is my favorite part! Oh and the silicone muffin liners are amazing!! So simple to clean and use! Thank you, Amazon!!

  • Week Five Review Of 80 Day Obsession – A Mom’s Journey of Weight Loss Transformation!

Week Five Review Of 80 Day Obsession – A Mom’s Journey of Weight Loss Transformation!

Phase Two is here!!! I’m this video I highlight the real struggle of trusting the process & forgiving yourself if you have an “off day” in your journey. Sometimes it feels like one step forward and two steps back. Luckily, I’ve been healthy so I’m right on track with the calendar.

I also detail out the incredible ginger-lemon water recipe I’ve been meaning to try for a long time and finally did!!

It has helped me drink an extra gallon of water just this week and I’m afraid it’s as addicting as that Diet Coke “back of the throat burn” we all know and love. It’s perfect!

    Here’s the recipe:

    Juice from two lemons
2-4 drops of vanilla liquid stevia
2-4 chunks of peeled ginger root
    1 pinch of cayenne
    3 cups water

Add everything to the blender and blend until the ginger is smooth. Strain through a fine mesh strainer and add to a gallon of water.

I’ve been using a metal straw found here: http://amzn.to/2ESMThe

with my 24 ounce Starbucks tumbler.

This is the best lemon squeezer I’ve ever owned: http://amzn.to/2GJS143

Blended blender is what we’ve owned for 8 years and it’s been thing in our kitchen. I blend all our smoothies in it daily. Here is the one we use: http://amzn.to/2BQjSQz

  • 21 Day Fix Meal – Food Made Easy!

    21 Day Fix Meal

When I started looking at food for FUEL instead of ENTERTAINMENT, that’s when my game changed and this 21 Day Fix meal is perfect.  Food has always been a trigger.  I had no real control of my portions, I had no control of what I was eating in general.  I ate “healthy” food while I was out and about, but would have a ton of dressing, or fries….when those can be the most damaging items for my transformation.  Maintaining consistency and moderation were the two essential keys to see change, that would last.

I get to think of my meals in colors now, thanks to these handy-dandy-portion-control containers. I can eat a variety of meals and still have daily balance. Eating out is easy now because I can eyeball what my portions should be. ???? Knowing what you should do is most the battle we fight.  That was my main problem….I thought I was doing it right and yet I saw hardly any improvements.  I am not talking weight either; I am talking inches, pants fitting better, more energy and attitude change!  These are the portions I had with this 21 Day Fix meal.

    1 Red (cod)
    1 Yellow (organic brown rice)
    1 Green (broccoli)

For my specific plan in the 21 Day Fix Extreme guide, I get 3 greens a day, 4 reds and 2 yellows. Some other colors too ???but you can tell that losing weight does not mean starving yourself. It’s actually quite the opposite.  So many women I talk to feel they need to eat less to accomplish their goals!  This is so far from the truth, most the time!

Finally, if you are looking for more recipes, Fixate is a great recipe book.  It has a ton of meal plans and gives you the container amounts you need.  I recommend it for any 21 Day Fix meal plans you might want to make.  And when you get to use your daughter’s princess salt and pepper, everything tastes better ?

  • Gluten-Free Snacks that I know Everyone Will Love!

    GLUTEN-FREE SNACKS!!!

I’m not gonna lie, I am so thankful for these gluten-free snacks. When I found out my daughter and I needed to be gluten-free, I was super bummed. No more maple bars? Are you kidding me?  I needed some GOOD gluten-free snacks.

Luckily, I was wanting to make some changes anyway and empty carbs and white flour were not in the plan.
Tweaking my diet and finding things I enjoyed still is really important to me.

I just got off the phone with a client who recently found out she had to cut out gluten and was a bit overwhelmed. I remember all too well that same feeling. Almost like a fish out of water or like you’ve gotten the rug pulled out from under you. My main concern was how I could eat at a restaurant or a friends house.

I’ve learned how to plan and eat prior to going places, just in case there were no options for me. Having back up protein bars or my smoothie with me, helps a ton too.  This is my secret stash of goodies I enjoy even more than the gluten filled alternatives.  I have really come to love the pizza.  I can’t have any giant Papa Murphy’s family sized vegetable pizzas anymore, which has helped with my waist line!

Another thing my friend just brought to my attention…you can get these at Target, stock up and store in the freezer AND I use my Red card for the added 5% discount.  Udi’s, Rudi’s and Amy’s for the win!  All awesome gluten-free snack approved!

What are your fave gluten free treats?   Did you freak out when you found out you couldn’t have it? What’s the one thing you miss the most?   Mine is maple bars obviously ? please share this if you know someone who needs some comfort food that won’t tear up their stomach.

  • Week Four Review Of 80 Day Obsession – A Mom’s Journey of Weight Loss Transformation!

Week Four Review Of 80 Day Obsession – A Mom’s Journey of Weight Loss Transformation!

This week with a little more tricky for me because we packed up and left for a two-night snowy mountain vacation with the family.

Of course, I prepped veggies, fruits and meats that we would have fast access to them during the day. I’m learning how to quickly pick my meals. This helps with the problem most of us face when we’re shooting for a goal. If you get too hungry, you start to crave all the wrong things and that can lead to a bad decision!

The workouts are a little tricky because I only packed two 15 pound weights and I needed more variety than that. I just used no weights and focused on resistance.

I still have been struggling with that perfect nutrition. But, I have been perfect with my workouts, so I have to accept my success and know that every day I’m improving. Hashtag : peanut butter!!

I found Glazed Lemon Loaf Tea from Tazo. It has so much flavor and I love that it’s a free food on the plan. All the girls in the group are getting it to enjoy at night.  I provided a link if you are interested!

I’ve been able to up my weights and I feel like anyone can do this program because of the modifier in each workout.

It always help to have a base when starting any fitness program.  So if you have been doing some type of working out, that’s awesome.  If you haven’t no worries.  There is a modifier for every move!  If you have any weight to lose, this will guaranteed do the trick for you.

My favorite part obviously, because I love food, is that you’re eating a lot throughout the day and you know without a shadow of a doubt that you’re nourishing your body the way it needs.

I think that as busy women we need that assurance that were taking care of ourselves as were learning to take care of our kids.

I know Phase Two will be will bring its own challenges but I’m really looking forward to the new workouts. I will keep sharing my progress videos and pictures, I promise! Feel free to join one of my monthly groups.  We have them regularly and you would have access to the workouts within 24 hours. Your package would arrive within 3-5 business days! Don’t hesitate, let’s get you feeling better SOON!!!
